The team from C&G Cleaning is more likely to be seen abseiling down such landmark buildings such as the Houses of Parliament and the City of London's "hedgehog" building. However, over the next few months C&G will be cleaning Hull City Council's 14 multi-storey flats which have external cladding.
Cleaning by abseiling is a precarious job. Although the technique is the most cost efficient and effective way of getting to the grime on the external cladding, the team is very much at the mercy of the elements, and cleaning only takes place when there is a safe wind speed.
Betty Peck, Chair of Hull Tenants and Residents Forum said "I am a resident in one of the council's high rise blocks and it has been fantastic to see this unusual way of cleaning the buildings. The difference once they have finished their work is outstanding."
