Youth theatre groups from across Hull will perform at the Hull Truck Theatre over two nights as part of the Humber Mouth Literature Festival.
The Creative Voice Youth Theatre Platform involves young people from the city who have been working on a two year programme of youth theatre development, funded by Arts Council England. Performances take place on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 July, where the best of youth theatre in the city will be on show.
Ruth Drake, youth arts co-ordinator, said:
"This event is one of the highlights of an ongoing youth theatre development programme. Creative Voice provides young people with something to work towards and this year they have been able to work with a writer to develop their own scripts."
Monday 6 July features specially commissioned scripts from writer Morgan Sproxton and drama tutor Kathryn Lee, which have been devised with young dramatists with something to say, reflecting the issues and humour of their lives.

The Lost Boy The West Hull Youth Theatre Group presents the story of Jake, a cool and popular teenager who seems to "have it all" including an ability to click his fingers and make magical things happen. Over the course of a day Jake comes to terms with a tragedy in his past and lays a few ghosts to rest.
Who am I? Northcott Special School examines the big questions in life: who am I? What do I want to be? Where am I going? In conjunction with Spin Off Theatre Company, this piece takes a fresh look at some age-old questions with surprising and inspiring results.
Canteen Inspired by the day to day happenings in the school canteen, Malet Lambert students present this play which looks at the secretive world of eating disorders as we join Carol, weatherworn head dinner lady, over the course of a lunch hour. Kathryn Lee directs.
Tuesday 7 July features Hull Truck Youth Theatre with "Baby Blues" by Mark Rees, a hard hitting contemporary look at teenage pregnancy and its aftermath. The performance starts at 7pm.
Young people from St Michael's youth centre, who have been working with Act Now, will also be performing on the night along with Tweendykes and Ganton Special schools, who have been working with Spin Off Productions to put together their own exciting pieces.
