Hull FC’s in form back row forward Danny Tickle is just 20 points short of hitting the 500 mark since he joined the club in 2007.
The former Halifax and Wigan Warriors forward has started the season in great form and recently Head Coach Richard Agar praised his 25-year-old.
Tickle’s 12 point haul in last weeks 28-12 victory over Catalans Dragons at the KC Stadium took his seasons tally to 38 points in three games and his overall total for Hull to 480.
He also reached another milestone last Friday, because his third goal against the Dragons when he added the goal points to Craig Hall’s 39th minute try was his 100th for the club.
As Hull look to continue their unblemished start to the season with a fourth straight win when they meet Huddersfield Giants at the Galpharm Stadium on Friday (8pm), Tickle is hoping to edge a little closer to that landmark.
“It will be nice to reach 500 points but I’m not really looking at that. What is more important is playing well and for the team to keep this start going,” said Tickle.
“We have made a good start but we’re not getting carried away and we know we have plenty of improvement in us.
“That’s individually and collectively and from my point I’m pleased with the way things have started but I want to not just maintain my form and be consistent but improve as well.”
Tickle’s form this season has been impressive and after his hat-trick display in the 28-20 win in Bridgend, Agar said he felt he could really push for a place in the England side at the end of the season.
Agar felt Tickle had been on the fringe but this was a season where he could take that extra step up and he added that he’d been delighted with his attitude and work during the off season.
