I have been a fan of this pub for many years having got married there and going regularly to watch rugby on the big screen there. I have had many meals and snacks there as well and have always been happy with everything. I have not been in for a couple of months and so decided to go for tea last night.

I have to say I was very disappointed. Prices have gone up quite a bit and I was not impressed by the food. The steak was tough and the chips were soggy. The portions also seemed to be on the small side. Perhaps I caught them on an off night or maybe they had a stand in chef, whatever the reason it was below their normal standard.

Putting that to one side, it is still a very nice pub and well supported too. It boasts 2 function rooms and they hold a license to hold wedding ceremonys. They have a lot of different functions throughout the year and these are also well supported.

I can only award 2 stars based on my latest visit but I will be eating there again to give the benefit of the doubt simply because it is local for me and I like the pub.
