Located directly opposite the Hull University you could be forgiven for assuming that this is a student pub, but it isnt. Yes it has it's fair share but it is very popular with families too. This is probably down to the very reasonable prices here and of course the friendly staff that make children welcome. There is adequate parking available and a basic but functional beer garden at the rear.

Inside it always seems a little too dark for me but I suppose it adds to the general feel of the place. There are plenty of tables to choose from and it is rare to have to wait for one. The menu is packed with choices, all the usual pub grub items available. Check for special offers too, there are usually one or two and they make it even easier on your pocket. Interestingly, if you register with your email address they will send you regular offers that you can print and take in. I have had two of these and they are definately worth taking up.

The food is excellent and always served with a smile. I can recommend the 8oz rump steak, although vegetarians will disagree. There are many options for vegetarians so you will not miss out.

To summarize, cheap and tasty is the word, and well worth a visit.
