westbullsimg

westbullsSituated on the junction of Bricknel Avenue and Hull Road, West Bulls is a large pub with more than enough parking space. From the outside it looks well maintained and inviting. There is ample seating outside for the hot summer days and of course for the smokers and it is quite pleasant to sit there and enjoy a drink while watching the world pass by.

As you enter the pub you can't miss the spacious bar area. Unlike most pubs, the seating is around the outside of the room with just two barstool type tables in the centre.
Having got your drink, which is quickly served you can wander off to the eating side of the premises. In here it is a lot busier as I guess word has spread about the food. It is a stand and queue carvery but that does not distract from the quality. You can smell the aroma as soon as you enter the door but as you get towards the rear of the room you can see the roasts on the hotplate being carved.

There are usually 3 or 4 choices of meat and you can mix and match as you wish. A large selection of vegetables, roast and boiled potatoes, yorkshire puddings, and stuffing are available and you can help yourself to as much as you want. Tasty, although slightly watery gravy is at the end of the hotplate as are a choice of condiments.

I have eaten here many times and have never had a bad meal. The service is friendly and there is no rush to get you out when you have finished your meal. It does get very busy so allow a good hour and a half if you are going there. I would certainly say it is worth a visit.
